Wild Roots After-School Programs
In these soulful art classes we will create a variety of arts & crafts projects.
Each session is different and has it’s own special theme.
Classes are located at designated PSD elementary schools or at Wild Roots Studio:
Wild Roots Studio classes begin when your (child arrives anytime after-school) and runs until 5:30pm. Learn more about the Wild Roots Studio space (directions and other info) here.
School based after-school art clubs happen immediately after school in designated location at elementary schools.
An email with location direction & information is sent to parents the week before each session starts. Projects are completed within 1-3 class periods depending on time and complexity of art works. Each session will have different activities and projects. Class size is limited.
Each session is priced differently depending on workshop time span and supplies fees.

Laurel elementary school
after school art club
Join Wild Roots Studio for an after-school art club on Tuesdays at Laurel Elementary School. This workshop series will be a place for creative young artists to meet after school and explore themselves and the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork.

Mountain Sage After School Art Club
for middle schoolers
This workshop series will be a place for middle school aged artists to meet after school and explore themselves and the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork.
Class begins after school at 4pm in the Music Room and ends at 5pm.

Mountain Sage After School Art Club for ELEMENTARY CHILDREN
In this after-school art class, we will be using the vehicle of art to explore kids’ wild creativity and seek out ways to connect them to nature, themselves, and each other. Children will take part in art projects that will explore their connection to nature in making earth-based art projects and explore their inner landscapes in creating art that supports tapping into their emotions & unique expression.
Class begins after school at 4pm in the Music Room and ends at 5pm.

Fort collins montessori AFter School Art Club
Join Wild Roots Studio for an after-school art club on Mondays at Fort Collins Montessori School. This workshop series will be a place for creative young artists to meet after school and explore themselves and the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork.

wild Art skills & Explorations
2024 SESSIONS COMING SOON!
Every Thursday after school, young artists who attend this club will gather to create art of their own design. Holding space for young artists to make art freely with less attachment to the outcome gets the wheels of pure creativity turning. The studio will become their personal workspace as they explore drawing, painting, sculpture, and fibers. Artists will come up with an idea, plan their artistic execution, choose the appropriate medium, and create tangible works of art. In this way they will be flexing and building their creativity by thinking and working like artists!
We acknowledge PSD schools are released at a variety of different times, so please arrive anytime after-school between 3-4pm. The first part of class will be open studio which allows for everyone to arrive at their own pace. The class will run until 5:30pm.
$150 per/child. Price includes all supplies & a light snack.

Shepardson AFter School Art Club
Join Wild Roots Studio for an after-school art club on Thursdays at Shepardson Elementary School. In this session we will be celebrating the magical season of Spring! These workshop series will be a place for creative young artists to meet after school to explore the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork.

This after school workshop series will be a place for creative young artists to meet after school and explore themselves and the world around them through art. Each week we will make art using many different mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, and sculpture. Our classes aim to strengthen children’s connection to the environment by using nature as a subject and medium for their artwork.
Sessions generally run 5-weeks with the exception of the May Day session held in May which will run 3 weeks. Five week sessions tuition cost is $130 and three weeks sessions tuition cost is $78.

Empowering Art Skills: Teen and Tween Oil Painting Workshop
JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 16, 2024 (5-WEEKS) 4PM- 6PM
Aimed for tweens & teens (Ages 9-16)
Taught by Artist and Certified Art Teacher, Katie Walker
This workshop will focus on empowering artists to express their ideas and creativity through art! Whether your young artist has experience painting or is a total beginner this workshop is designed to give them the space, materials, time, and guidance to explore their creativity. Each week we will build artists’ skills in rendering realistic drawings and paintings through skill-building activities and instructional studio time. We will explore the basics of drawing, painting, value, and color theory as we create original oil paintings. Each session will build on what we learn from the last as we add to a painting of a subject of the student’s choice. Katie will be there to guide students in finding their inspiration as an artist and turning that vision into a meaningful work of art.
The cost of the class will be $275 per student which covers all materials and a light snack.

WAIT-LIST: In the event that a class is full, email here to be added to our waiting list and you will be notified promptly if space becomes available.
SCHOLARSHIPS: We feel strongly that every child should be able to enjoy our programs. We offer a limited amount of partial and full scholarships to income-qualifying families. WILD ROOTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATIONS: If you or your business would like to donate to our youth scholarship fund please contact us here. We appreciate all donations to support children who may not otherwise be able to attend.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made 7 days prior to the first day of class will receive a full refund less a non-refundable $50 administration fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the first day of the camp session will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made on or after the first day of the camp session will not receive a refund. We cannot offer full refunds as we often have waitlists for all our programs. Therefore, we have turned away other families when we reserve a space for your child(ren). $50 administration fee helps us cover credit card fees, the cost of the staff time needed to process & cancel registrations and manage wait lists. LOCATION
Afterschool programs will be held at designated elementary school or at Wild Roots Studio. Wild Roots Studio is located in NW Fort Collins. Please see the above schedule for location of each workshop.
WILD ROOTS STUDIO
The Wild Roots Art Barn is located at 444 N. Sunset Street, Fort Collins, CO, 80521. This backyard studio space has both an indoor and outdoor classroom. It allows for us to create nature under the beautiful Colorado sun and is surrounded by vegetable and herb gardens from which we can gather ingredients for some of our art projects. From here, we often take nature walks to visit nearby creeks, parks or open spaces.
