We eagerly anticipate the arrival of summer, and we're thrilled to offer an enriching and immersive experience for kids to connect with nature and unleash their wild creativity. Our summer camps are designed to be multi-day adventures, providing a perfect blend of outdoor play, artistic expression, and soulful exploration. At Wild Roots, we believe in fostering a connection with nature and encouraging children to explore their creativity in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Each camp brings new opportunities for discovery and growth as we dive into themes inspired by the natural world. We take pride in incorporating the beauty of the changing seasons, the mesmerizing cycles of the sun and moon, and the treasures we discover in the wild into our artworks and lessons. By doing so, we aim to instill a sense of gratitude, heightened awareness, and inner peace as participants sync into the natural rhythms surrounding them, realizing that they too are an integral part of nature's tapestry.
Here are some of the soulful themes we are excited to explore this summer season…

Environmental & Social Justice: Instill a sense of responsibility for our planet and its inhabitants. Campers will engage in discussions and activities that promote environmental and social justice, fostering a mindset of care and compassion for the world around them.
Inclusivity: Our camp is a welcoming and inclusive space for all. Celebrate diversity and build lasting connections as we create an environment that honors and respects the unique qualities of each individual.

BLOOM & CREATE
Summer Nature Art & Herbology Camp
jUly 27-31, 2026
Step into a week of creativity, curiosity, and earth-based wonder at our 5-day late-spring nature art camp. This immersive experience invites young artists and explorers to slow down, dig in, and connect deeply with the living world through hands-on art, gardening, and herbal discovery.
Throughout the week, campers will work with natural and foraged materials, transforming leaves, flowers, soil, and plant fibers into meaningful works of art. They’ll begin a personal herbal journal, filling its pages with drawings, pressed plants, observations, simple recipes, and creative reflections inspired by their time in the garden.
Each day unfolds with a balance of movement, exploration, and focused making. Starting outdoors, children will learn to identify, harvest, and care for late-spring plants, flowers, and herbs. They’ll explore the stories and traditional uses of these plants, gaining an age-appropriate introduction to herbalism and plant wisdom through sensory, experiential learning.
As the week progresses, campers will craft herbal creations and nature-based art pieces, while also planting and tending a small garden they can bring home and continue to nurture. The emphasis is on relationship—learning to listen to the land, trust creative instincts, and work with nature rather than rushing past it.
By the end of camp, your child will leave with:
A collection of original nature-inspired artwork.
A handmade herbal journal filled with memories and discoveries.
Herbal crafts and simple remedies.
A deeper sense of confidence, curiosity, and connection to the natural world.

Tuition & Enrollment Information
Camp Enrollment & Policies
LIMIITED SPACE: We keep our class sizes small to ensure every camper has a personalized and safe experience. This allows us to create a fun, enriching environment where children can connect with nature, explore their creativity, and build lasting memories. Spaces fill up quickly and there is usually a waitlist for our programs.
WAITLIST: If a camp session is full, we will place your child on our waitlist and notify you promptly if space becomes available. We encourage you to register early to avoid missing out!
PAYMENT OPTIONS: Wild Roots accepts payment via cash, check, and credit card. We also offer flexible payment plans to make camp more accessible. Payment plans are available during registration. To make camp more affordable, we offer payment plans that allow you to pay over time. Choose this option at checkout during registration.
CAMP SCHOLOARSHIPS: To support families in need, we offer a limited amount of partial and full scholarships for qualifying families. To apply for a scholarship, please submit a Youth Program Scholarship Application. We ask that applications be submitted by February 10, 2025 to be considered for summer camp scholarships.

We are grateful for your support and excited to welcome your child to our camp community!
SUMMER CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY:
At Wild Roots, we understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to honor the time, energy, and materials that go into preparing each camp or workshop, while remaining fair to all families and staff.
Cancellations made 14 or more days before the first day of the camp or workshop will receive a full refund, minus a non-refundable administration fee equal to 25% of the total class or camp fee.
Cancellations made 8–13 days prior to the start of the program will receive a 50% refund of the total tuition. If we are able to fill your space from our waitlist, we will refund your payment minus the 25% administration fee.
Cancellations made within 7 days of the program start date are not eligible for a refund, unless we are able to fill your spot. If your spot is filled, we will issue a refund minus the administration fee (25%).
Why We Have This Policy: Our camps and workshops often fill quickly and require thoughtful preparation, including staff scheduling, supply ordering, and time set aside for communication and coordination. When you register, we hold a space specifically for your child(ren), which often means turning away other interested families.
The 25% administration fee helps cover credit card processing fees, administrative labor, and communication with families on our waitlist.
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the sustainability of our programs!
What to Wear:
We will be doing some painting & nature play, so best to wear something you don’t mind your children to get messy. We do provide paint shirts and aprons but they don’t always cover everything. Its nice to pack an extra change of clothes in case we get wet or muddy during nature walks. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes or sport sandals (no flip flops). For camps located at the Art Lab, we often eat lunch in the Old Town Square where some kids like to bring swimsuits & a towel for some fountain playtime.
What to bring to camp
SOLO TIME BOOKS OR PROJECTS: Each day we have take few moments of quiet time. We call these Solo Time. They offer us a soulful moment to relax and center ourselves in the midst of our busy summer days. During Solo Time we ask children to find something to do quietly by themselves while we play peaceful music. This maybe a book, drawing, journal, finishing a project we are working on, lego project, laying down to rest, painting, etc. Your child is welcome to bring a book or small project from home to enjoy during Solo Time. (No screens please.)
INSPIRATION FROM NATURE: Nature items found between now and camp are awesome great for incorporating into their art. Feel free to collect twigs, sticks, pine cones, stones, seeds and other nature bits and bring them into camp. There is something great about using nature items that are hand-picked and collected by the child. The art then has a story beyond our camp. No worries, if you don't bring nature items to camp...that is fine too! We always have plenty of natural items to share and will likely do some nature walks to find more.
FOOD & DRINK: Please send them with a large water bottle, big lunch and 2 designated snacks (one for morning and one for afternoon).
SUNSCREEN & BUG REPELLENT: Please pack sunscreen for your child with your child's name on it. If the day starts off sunny, please bring them with sunscreen already applied. Sunhats or layers of light clothes are great options too. Feel free to pack some mosquito repellent if you would like as it can get buggy in the shade during nature walks or while painting outdoors.
Your child is unique!
It is our wish that each child feels like they may come to Wild Roots camps as themselves. Whether they are shy, wild, needing a bit of warm up time, active, in need of some help to make friends…whatever they might need….it is our hope that each child feels comfortable, cared for and allowed to explore their unique creativity during their time with us. We are always open to modifying our schedule, projects and approach to assure children are having fun and feeling comfortable. We hope that their time spend with us is remembered as enjoyable, a place where they create new friendships, make some special works of art and connect to the wonder of mother nature.
